So Many Pins, So Little Time..

Sonja Cook currently resides in Wilmington, NC, with her amazing husband, Greg, their two beautiful daughters, Aubrey & Tia, and with their lively puppy, Sula. As a military spouse, she has dedicated the last two+ decades to raising her family, volunteering with the local schools, their local church, and within their community across the country and overseas.

Sonja has used her creative gifts since her early adolescence, often getting captivated with the beauty of color. As her love for art grew, she gravitated to the dynamics of oil painting, where she knew the oils gave way to time for creativity to evolve.

She graduated from the University of Montevallo with a Bachelors in Art and completed her Masters of Science in Art Therapy, at Eastern Virginia Medical School. She has taught Art History (on-line) at Central Texas College, art classes for both children and adults, and is currently a high school substitute teacher. In addition to her passion for art and DIY, she has used her talents to create custom cakes for baby and bridal showers, birthdays and weddings. She often jokes that sculpture was her least favorite art class in college, but ironically, that’s ultimately what she has done with her cakes.

Sonja has always believed that everyone has the ability to create – that everyone is an artist – and she is convinced of the therapeutic process of art. So, when she was introduced to Pinspiration, she knew this was THE opportunity that would encompass her beliefs and allow her to share it with others. Sonja is looking forward providing a place in Wilmington where friends, families and the community can come together to be inspired and create.
