

You are new to the speaking and consulting business. Why should I consider booking you without a proven track record? But I do have a proven track record over the last thirty years in both the profit and non-profit sectors. The difference is that my motivational speaking and consulting was done as an executive rather than an independent contractor. On average I gave over 25 major speeches a year to national conventions, industry meetings, state associations and local affiliates. On the consulting level, I have gained experience from operating my own successful business to leading one of the largest associations mergers in the history of the U.S. combined 3 million members, 50,000 volunteers, 250 staff and a combined budget over $ 50 million. You don’t do all that and not learn from it.
But the bowling industry has been your primary area of expertise. How does that relate to what my group is doing? Bowling was the field I worked in, but being a change agent in the business was my area of expertise. Whether it is bowling, insurance, or building widgets, the fundamentals of running a business and dealing with people are virtually the same. The bowling background I have provides a common denominator between me and your audience as virtually everyone has bowled at one time or another. Using that familiarity with bowling provides a comfortable springboard to learning about business and personal interactions needed to be successful.
Do you have any special requirements for your speeches, such as providing you with bowling shoes? I’ll bring my own bowling shoes and everything else. All I’ll need from you is a stage, a projection setup and a lavaliere microphone. I’ll supply the humor, educational and most important “pinspiration” to the audience.
Do you give the same speeches to everyone? No. The general topics I offer are standardized, but the body of the presentations will be customized to meet the needs of your group. I have a questionnaire that I request all of my clients to complete. In addition I will contact you or your designee to follow up on special insights, issues or concerns facing your group.
